Roger Golubski, a disgraced former KCK detective whose trial is set to start Monday, has been confirmed dead by the court.
Prosecutors claim that former Kansas City, Kansas police officer Roger Golubski was discovered dead after failing to appear for his scheduled federal trial on Monday.
After hearing of Golubski’s passing, federal prosecutors filed a motion to dismiss the case, which was approved.
According to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, Gulobski was shot and died. A homicide investigation is not being conducted into the deceased. He was seventy-one.
On Monday morning, police prepared a crime scene outside Golubski’s house in order to conduct an investigation. When he did not show up for court on Monday morning, a warrant for his arrest was issued.
On Monday, shortly after nine in the morning, a resident at 706 S. 9th Street in Edwardsville called 911 to report hearing a gunshot.
Officers found Golubski dead from a gunshot wound on the back porch when they got on the scene.
Golubski was accused of breaching two women’s civil rights. He retired from the department in 2010 after 35 years of service.
He was accused of sexually abusing two women between 1998 and 2002, in addition to using his position of responsibility as an officer to violate their civil rights.
The following statement was provided to FOX4 by the Metro Organization for Racial and Economic Equality (MORE2):
“We know too much to trust the words of the KCKPD that Golubski died by suicide. We expect a full autopsy and an outside independent investigation. The department has done absolutely nothing when it comes to Golubski except now declaring his death a suicide.
They owe his victims better than that. Golubski is a coward and the many people he terrorized deserved to see him go to prison.“

The alleged wrongdoing of Golubski goes beyond these instances.

Roger Golubski
Regarding the passing of Roger Golubski, who was scheduled to go on trial this week, U.S. Attorney Kate E. Brubacher for the District of Kansas and Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke of the Civil Rights Division released the following statement today:
“It is never easy when a case cannot be fully and honestly heard in a public trial and then considered and decided by a jury. This case featured very serious charges. Even though this case is concluded, all of the people and families involved will continue to be affected in the long run.
We urge that they all be treated with dignity and that their privacy be respected as they come to grips with this development. We also wish them peace and the chance to heal.”
